I take this approach with the news, easily done in this internet age, by reading a multitude of news sources. It is tempting to only read those journals which confirm rather than challenge ones own viewpoint. I conciously do not do this. I don't know of many independent lens experts. I used to like the Chasseur d'Images tests. I expect Erwin's evaluation to be the most thorough available, based on past experience. One does not have to agree with his conclusions.
