Doug... I think the story is sad.  They promise one thing and deliver on
another.  

Having said that, if you are a professional ( making part or all of your
income from photography), why not buy locally, ship film from home to your
destination, and ship home your unprocessed film?

Given travel costs and opportunity lost costs, it is a small price to pay
for ensuring your film makes it safely.

And for you as a professional. It is tax deductible.

For us amateurs, it is just a cost to be added to the trip.
