I'm not a sensor expert, but I don't think that's the problem.  Sensors 
do tend to have pretty good IR sensitivities which need to be filtered 
out, but I wasn't aware of any particular dip in sensitivity between red 
and blue, i.e. green.  While the native green sensitivity might be less 
than the native red sensitivity, I would then expect it to be even less 
sensitive in the blue.
