I always (talking ~10-15 years ago) found multi-session was less trustworthy than a single write. john -----Original Message----- i think it can be done with cd-r <http://www.tech-recipes.com/rx/4836/os-x-how-to-burn-a-multisession-cd-or-d vd/> ric On Mar 9, 2012, at 9:03 PM, Robert Meier wrote: > Leo, Jim, and Ken, > > Thank you very much. You have cleared up the situation completely. What I have are CD-R disks, so that explains why I can't multi-session. I'm glad to find out that CD-RW disks will do that. And so putting together a folder with close to 700 mb of pictures and burn it all at one time is the only way to use the CD-R disks. I have those disks because they were given to me and I thought I would use them. I do use multiple hard drives for back up, but a physical disk in a different location seems like a good idea too. > > Robert > > On Mar 9, 2012, at 7:42 PM, Ken Carney wrote: > >> I abandoned CD's and DVD's some time ago for storage (small capacity, cataloging issues), but I recall that the only way to have multiple sessions was to use a CD-R, which from what I read is compromised as to storage life. If it is an archiving issue, I think multiple redundant hard drives are more convenient for the average amateur (myself). >> >> Ken >> >> On 3/9/2012 7:16 PM, Robert Meier wrote: >>> I'm not trying to burn over over material that is already on the disk.
