And then there's 4) the actual business administration.

It really requires at least a small team to pull it off.

When it was "actually" working for me
I had a part time agent, an office/bookkeeper, and two production assistants 
who could function in the studio, darkroom and at the drawing board; as well 
as two galleries that I could depend on for a show every couple years, and 
who'd keep a few prints in the bins.
