It was well known if you wanted to be a photographer you got a Nikon F. as "all the best photogs were using them." But the very best photogs were using Leica M's. That was less immediate obviously but certainly no secret. The photographers you'd not just admire but the ones you'd really want to be. Just look at the Magnum yearly class picture. >From the 60's through the 90's and the end of the film era that was the case. The cr?me de la cr?me were still rangefinder users.
