In 1966 I went to see the track near the beach resort town of Zandvoort, Holland, which held F1 races from the fifties to the mid-eighties. I was not there on an F1 race weekend but I did make a couple of shots of the track and of the beach: http://www.bobbaron.com/Zandvoort1966/index.html In July 1970 I was at Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin, for Continental Formula and TransAm sedan races. By then I was out of school and working so I assume it was a vacation trip of some sort; looking at these slides I have vague memories of an extremely long but not-very-sharp third party lens, obviously mounted on some sort of slr body but I sure don't remember what: http://www.bobbaron.com/ElkhartLakeJuly1970/index.html In 1972 I was visiting friends in Heidelberg, Germany, and we drove over to see the Hockenheim Ring. Again it was not a race weekend but I took a few snaps of the track: http://www.bobbaron.com/HockenheimRing1972/index.html I do remember having a long supper at a very nice hotel restaurant not far from the track that had walls lined with photos of then current and past F1 drivers. I have no idea what it was called but it was probably well known, at least then. And I've been compiling these links at http://bobbaron.tumblr.com/post/14687062155/old-tracks-old-races --Bob
