He gave her a little lick - a lion kiss: http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/Howard+Cummer/Lions/LionKissEw.jpg.html This is Esther's photo. The lioness replied with a growl - again photo by Esther. http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/Howard+Cummer/Lions/LionReplyEw.jpg.html He gave a knowing smile and got up: http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/Howard+Cummer/Lions/LionSmileHw.jpg.html And they were at it! http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/Howard+Cummer/Lions/2FinishHw.jpg.html And in seconds they were done (Esther's photo) http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/Howard+Cummer/Lions/LuvOverEw.jpg.html Kalyan explained that when lions are mating they may couple fifty or sixty times in a day - until the female is impregnated. So that may help explain while a single congress is so short. The lion's penis is covered with bumps which, raking the lioness's vagina, causes her to ovulate (so Wikipedia informs me). C&C always welcome. Please view large. Cheers Howard
