The files are slightly smaller but still incredible in their resolution. It's just as sharp as the M9 pixel for pixel. I use both and switch back and forth seamlessly as if I'm using the same camera model but with two different focal length lenses, one on each body. If I had the spare cash for another M9 I don't think I would get one if it meant giving up my M8. The M8 is a tool that gives me some options that no other camera can right now. (ie: M mount, 1/8000 second shutter, real far-infrared response.) It's just too unique a tool to get rid of if I'm going to be shooting digital.
