This is what can be expected....  Smaller lenses, smaller Sensors  = lower
selling prices and bigger profits and larger markets.

Only a few Pro level and rich amateur level cameras will use large
sensors.... 

As much as you may not want to believe it, the vast majority of consumers
would prefer not to spend $7K, $5K, or even $2K on a camera body.

Performance is totally secondary to price point.

As expected, the march to "full frame 35mm" sensor is not happening.

Instead, companies are designing cameras that match sensors to lens that
provide the best combination of price and performance.
