I haven't been there in decades so maybe the hygienic standards are better now. Singapore has the safest street food in south east Asia. Get Hep A & B shots before you go if you want to give it a try. > I have heard stories about Taiwanese street food that makes us HK people > squirm :-) I've forgotten all the neat stuff I ate as a kid. You must be able to get snake soup in HK. :) There were little birds on a skewer (sort of like what is done in southern France) and other more exotic snacks. (Grilled squid - yummy) What I loved as a kid also included a bowl of soup noodles (with either fried pork chop or sliced pot roast beef on top). If I was really rich that day, I would ask for a hard-boiled egg which cost about 0.5 Yuan extra. In many ways, it is no more exotic than what is served at tapas. Lots of culinary ventures possible. It all a matter how adventurous one is willing to be?. Regards, Spencer
