I scorned Leica and Leica owners as elitist fools until I used one. After that I aspired to one for about ten years before I bought one. I have faith that there are young people now who will follow a similar (or their own) path. OTOH does it matter so much that Leica survive as long as people are making photographs? There will be a broad range of technical skills and aspirations for quality results in every generation. Whether by using a Leica or not, the aspirations for quality results will be fulfilled in one way or another. It takes experience and maturity to recognize and appreciate exceptional quality (technical or aesthetic) so no matter what brand is used I suspect it will be an older demographic.
