I've had the iPad since Sept 18, 2010.

Though my question was specifically about the "Air Display" apps on the iPad 
and MacBook Pro.
I have no experience with Air Display.
Your post intrigued me and I went out and read all the reviews in the app 
store - many of which kind of scared me off the apps for the moment.

It's hard to say if I've noticed anything about the iPad (itself) 
performance because there have been so many iOS upgrades since I first 
started using it. I do experience slow downs if I have too many apps open - 
since they've allowed for that somewhat clunky possibility. Yet generally, 
no, it seems to truck along more or less as when new.
