Cleopatra is a non-releasable captive who arrived at California Foundation
for Birds of Prey near death from West Nile virus. She has been cured of
the virus but the illness caused neurological damage so she can't seen
clearly at close range. She can fly perfectly well, and her distance vision
is superb, but she crashes into things when landing and can't catch prey.

For those who want to spot photos of captive birds: ordinarily you won't see
a dark background behind a wild Golden Eagle.

Technical stuff: R8/DMR, 280mm f/4 APO, shoulder stock & monopod. All
comments welcome.
