It was the situation where digital excels, if you don't like flash. The meter in my IIIa seems to be right on. Better be, since H. Scherer replaced the meter cell. I still check it with my Sekonic L-208 to see where the selenium cell might be off. I just like the idea of completely battery-free photography. At this point the proverbial "only camera on an island" would still be my Rolleiflex 3.5E or a Leica IIIf ST & Elmar (more compact). But what do you do with all that exposed film on the island...? Jan ---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: Jim Shulman <jshulman at judgecrater.com> The optics on this camera are truly sensational, particularly that 50 and the 135. I've been thrilled with the performance of my restored IIIa (though the meter is about as dependable as a city bus schedule). How did you get the interior shot without flash at ISO 100? Best, Jim Shulman ----Previous Message: The three flower images demonstrate the effect of the 50, 30 and 20 Proxar lenses on the 50mm Sonnar and the postwar Zeiss Ikon Contameter close-up RF. http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/bigon07/Contax/ Jan
