Subject: [Leica] IMG: White-faced Ibis

Prior to meeting up with Steve at the California Raptor Center I visited the
nearby Yolo wildlife area where I found high winds and some White-faced
Ibis. Nobody knows quite why, but this species was quite scarce in this
area no more than 20 years ago but now there are lots of them.

In its basic plumage the species' name doesn't seem to fit (older photo):

but at this time of year most have their breeding colors and the name is
much more fitting:

All photos: R8/DMR, 280mm f/4 APO + 2x APO-Extender-R, shoulder stock. All
comments welcome.
