My M8 never did produce what I thought of as really sharply focused images. Focus at 15 feet, use a tripod, at 1/25 second, of a fence, at F11 , using the WATE set at 16mm SHOULD produce some area of the image that is really tack sharp. Not mine.... NOTHING was in focus. Sharp focus just did not exist. A friends' M9 did produce sharp images using the same lenses... so it is the camera, not the lenses. No, it is NOT a back focus issue ( which produces a really a sharp image area, just not where you think it should be); nor does it need a RF readjustment.. So back it went today.... Never had this problem with a film camera.. and BTW, the lenses I tried all produce really sharp images on film.. Frank Filippone Red735i at earthlink.net
