I don't know Steve.
Though it works (for me) as a visual metaphor for some kind of
melancholy;
as well as subtle mystery.
We each read a photograph, drawing or painting based on our own life
experiences.
My own experience with alcohol and its use by family members and friends
causes me to see this particular arrangement of elements as just a
tad sad.
