As Ted and others have said or implied, see - snap. Yet behind that simplicity we'll find decades and generations of looking, studying, reading, experiencing, trial and error, success and failure, experimentation, discovery, repetition, developing techniques, teaching the body how to stand, hold the damn thing steady, find the eyes, focus, squeeze the "trigger," over and over and over again; until all that we have left is - "see - snap." And for others of us - there's that - plus: scout locations, build sets or blinds, plan lighting approaches or study sun positions, hire talent and assistants, learn habitat, research and gain access to difficult locations, learn the intricacies of specific sports, brain storm with art directors, editors and/or journalists, learn how to elicit emotions from a subject in a minute or five, and on and on - as the assignment or concept requires.
