The fact that "other qualities" in a photograph can appear so powerful so as to make "lack of sharpness" a non issue does not (for me) translate into over rating (or under rating) sharpness. Any time (most of the time) I intend sharpness to be a significant visual element within a photographic composition. I feel fairly disappointed if I do not achieve it or any other criteria. Intentional fuzziness, softness, use of softar filters, movement, imagon lenses, etc. is another matter altogether. Intention remains the guide. Did you achieve what you intended to achieve? 90% 70% 50%?
