Wow.  I didn't get serious until 1967, when a friend wanted to develop film 
and make prints; I watched and got hooked.  He lost interest and sold all 
his equipment to me.  Later that year I got my first picture published in 
the campus newspaper.

Obviously, I didn't have a clue about photojournalism, or print quality (or 
watching hand gestures).

Luckily, I've been able to fake it all these years.  ;~)
