Hi George,
My most favourite R camera was the R8, with motor drives. Me being one eyed 
with the motor, I never had to take the camera away from my good shooting 
left eye and could keep going as things changed before me.

But it was the best of all of them and I'm assuming the R9 falls into the 
same category as I don't think they made any major handling characteristics 
over the R8? But that was the end of my SLR days with LEICA! I kept a number 
of my R lenses and with adapters used them with various CANON bodies as I 
ventured into the digital world. Today I have no Leica SLR bodies and only a 
couple of R lenses left adapted to Canon's.
