I packed my gear ran down to the venue, scoped out a location in a field nearby set up my lights and discovered that I'd forgotten the cable that connects the flash to the pocket wizard (loaned to a wedding photographer two weeks ago & foolishly not put back in the bag). With five minutes before the band was to arrive I had to put my faith in technology and shoot by moonlight as well as convince everybody that had been my plan the whole time. I cranked the asa to 128,000 and by putting the camera on a light stand was able to hold it steady enough to get a shot at 1/20th sec at f 5.6. Back in the bat cave I made two layers and ran severe noise reduction on one and merged the two until I found a happy medium between grain and detail. Desaturated because of an overly blue sky and garishly green grass. After my minor heart attack, everyone walked away happy. http://www.kylecassidy.com/lj/2010/moonlight.jpg thinking now of TAPING a spare PW cable to the PW itself in a sort of "in case of emergency" sort of manner....
