Started sometime in the Year 2000, the LUG has had a consistent real-time chat room up and running 24 hours a day, seven days a week. People pop in to post photos, ask for advice on photoshop, developing, camera bags, or to share videos or stories. How do you get to it? 1) Get an IRC client. The Leica chat room runs over IRC (Internet Relay Chat) there are a zillion IRC clients, Colloquy for the Macintosh and MIRC for Windows are both very popular. Colloquy also has an iPhone client so you can chat while in line at the grocery store. 2) Connect to the server lugirc.availabledark.com port 6667 (this is the default port, you probably won't need to enter it) 3) Join the channel (or room, depending on how your IRC client phrases it) called "#leica" (without quotes). 4) Start chatting. You can email me if you're stumped, but it's not difficult. Hope to see you there. Kyle
