I've never been on an offshore rig but I've spent some time on deep
drilling rigs in Oklahoma to get acquainted with the technology in
preparation for industry-related litigation I have handled.  They call
the workers 'roughnecks' for a reason; this is about the hardest, most
hazardous occupation I have seen.
