Spoken by someone whose editors do not appreciate that aesthetic, who therefore spent the weekend humping two DSLRs, various lenses -- from very short to very long -- plus flashes, batteries, cards, cables, etc., at not one but two different races last weekend, and who is now very tired. Fortunately, one of the races, the Maxton Mile land speed race, more than worth it.? A real hoot. Where else are you going to find a '51 Crosley Super Sport (looks like a Bugeye Sprite, only smaller), a '73 Citroen SM (on nitrous), a vintage sprint car, a supercharged land speed roadster, an ex-Nascar Chevy, a street-legal '94 Mitsubishi Evo II that runs 237.63 in the standing mile, and a '72 Cadillac Eldorado (that doesn't run even half of 237.63) all on the same track?
