It was a crystal clear day making for difficult photography; lots of dark shadows and bright highlights. We really only shot 3 venues; Cascade Falls, Bridal Veil Falls and the Tanaya Creek flowing out of Mirror Lake. Oliver, being the Alpine mountaineer, also went on a walk up the Mist Trail for a view of Vernal Falls; I did not go there with him. The first shot is of a snag in Tanaya Creek that caught my eye: http://www.rgaphoto.com/sierras/content/_GA_3525_Edit_layers_1_large.html It was near the end of the day, so the bright sun had diffused. The second image (actually taken earlier in the morning) is of Cascade Falls, just off of Oak Flat Road down from the Highway 140 entrance: http://www.rgaphoto.com/sierras/content/_GA_3234_2_1_large.html The falls are really starting to flow now with some runoff from the hot days. The park was a bit busier than in mid winter (most likely because some spring breaks are starting), but far less crowded than when summer vacations start. A great time to visit between now and mid-May. Hope you enjoy. I was pleased to walk away with 2 keepers. It was a very long day, leaving my house at 6am (Oliver had to leave San Francisco to get to my house by then!) and returning to my house at 10:30pm. C&C always greatly appreciated, Bob Bob Adler Palo Alto, CA http://www.rgaphoto.com
