Richard,
We went to Ranthambhore and Bandhavgarh, both of which are easiest reached
via Delhi, and are nowhere near where I stay in South India. I would suggest
Ranthambhore for photography, but Bandhavgarh for sighting tigers - Howard &
I had ten drives there and saw tigers in each and every drive, but had good
photo opportunities in only 3-4 of them.

Here in South India we tend to have thick tropical forests, which make
sightings of big cats difficult, but are probably the best place in Asia to
photograph huge herbivores like elephants and gaur (the worlds largest
species of wild cattle).

Cheers
Jayanand
