Obviously you were referring to the fact that the LENS is a SM, mated to the M2 by way of an adapter. Incidentally, this echoes my very first Leica, an M2X (no self-timer) wearing a collapsible SM Canon 50/2...um...'Canonar'...can't remember the name of the lens, though the Canon 90 that I also had was a Serenar. Odd that I remember that, as I've never seen one since selling it ca. 1968.
