I am probably going to shoot Salton Sea this weekend with the XPan, and thus I need some advice re: film. This is TMAX-400, but in 6x7: http://www.dragonsgate.net/pub/richard/PICS/SaltonSea I will also have my Mamiya 7II with ~10 rolls of TMY-2. This is Tri-X http://www.dragonsgate.net/pub/richard/PICS/ThisNThat2010/ Some are 35mm, some are XPan I like the tonality, but of course the grain is Tri-X, which I may go ahead and use anyway. This is FP4+, I tried it because it's ISO 125, which should be smoother than Tri-X http://www.dragonsgate.net/pub/richard/PICS/FP4Test/ It does seem smoother than Tri X but does the mid tones look a bit too... hmm.. something, just not as distinct as it could be? I may do both scan and digital print and darkroom print, any preferences? -- // richard m: richard @imagecraft.com // portfolio: <http://www.dragonsgate.net/pub/richard/PICS/AnotherCalifornia > blog: http://rfman.wordpress.com // book: http://www.blurb.com/bookstore/detail/745963
