On my first day in Delhi I decided to find out whether I could get close enough to individuals to fill the frame with my 50mm lens. I was pleasantly surprised that my subjects did not seem to be offended. Perhaps my grey beard helped... Oliver Ken wrote: "Oliver, These are very involving images. For the b&w conversions, you might want to consider Alien Skin Exposure 2. I know that anything you can do in Exposure 2 can be done in PS, but I like to instantly switch to the different "film stocks". Same with color. Sometimes I like Agfa color, sometimes even Velvia - heresy I know but fun to work with. It doesn't take much to amuse a snowed-in photographer.
