The walk along the canal is usually pleasant enough, but with a windchill factor taking tempertures down to -30? or so, it's not much fun. At least the sun on the frozen canal looked quite pretty http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/DMS/Germany/Hannover/_MG_0672.jpg.html but it was much too cold to sit and enjoy the view http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/DMS/Germany/Hannover/_MG_0673.jpg.html the seagulls patrol the canal near the bridge waiting for people to throw them some bread http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/DMS/Germany/Hannover/_MG_0681.jpg.html the icebreaker had been through the branch canal while I was in the supermarket, but the floes were already freezing over within minutes http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/DMS/Germany/Hannover/_MG_0684.jpg.html On the way home, the sun peeped through the clouds for a moment and shone on the new housing development http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/DMS/Germany/Hannover/_MG_0685.jpg.html Back at home it was really good to be back where it's warm and cosy (this was actually shot on New year's Day, but the kitchen hasn't changed) http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/DMS/Germany/Hannover/_MG_0604.jpg.html Today the temperature rose to +4?C and it rained, so I took shelterin our local photo dealer's shop and blew nearly 200 euros on an almost mint Pentax MX, a pristine Canon A1, a whole bunch of lenses and motor drives for both. Today was a good day after all :-) Cheers Douglas
