The light was the hour or two between storm fronts (forecast is still rain/wind for the rest of the week) and was indeed glorious. Most of the OOF highlights in the background are water drops on the bush's twigs. About the moment - when foraging for seeds these sparrows are all over the place: hopping forward & back to scratch the ground, hopping left/right/back/forward to get another view of the scratched soil, turning body & head every direction imaginable, and then some. When body/head/background/foreground and light line up simultaneously it's "squeeze the button, gently and NOW" before the bird leaps out of the viewfinder.
