You might consider asking your local Fish & Game or Farm Bureau 
people, or maybe a conservation/wildlife rehab organization; they'll 
be a lot more up on what's working (and legal) in your area than 
those of us at the other end of the continent (or hemisphere, if 
hemispheres had ends...)

It's not against the law to make him so pissed off that he leaves of 
his own free will; the question is how to do that efficiently, now 
that he's decided your chicken coop is his poultry co-op.
