These beliefs become facts only if and when we can report, "Art director, Ms. Jane Doe, said she'd hire me; but only when I bought a full frame Nikon with lens X." or "Editor, Mr. John Doe, said he'd love to use my work in his magazine; but can't because my sensor's too small." and even then they'd be only anecdotal evidence specific to Jane and John's preferences and/or preferences of their employers.
