History is great this was the first history book I'd read in more than a
decade but I'm into story telling and from that point of view its hard to
beat a true story and this fella knows how to make history read like a seat
of your pants thriller and not at the expense of good documentation.
Its great to feel like you have the inside track on the really true story on
something. Expectedly when its such a critical thing.
We didn't have a chance against the Brits in the Revolutionary War.
Not a chance.
That fact that we came out on top in the end is nothing short of biblical.
Like the seas rising ten miles up in the air for Moses to part through.

I hear there's a civil war writer who writes like Hacket.

A slight simplification but in 1776 we were fighting the Germans.
Their first Stronghold was Staten Island.
They were told if we took them prisoner we'd kill them.
