While, admittedly, I was dismayed at the some of issues highlighted, I saw 
that some of the tests in the review "were carried out using firmware 0.73b 
(the final development version). Leica informs us that the differences 
between 0.73b and 1.0 relate only to 'bug fixes and performance 
improvements' "

If so, perhaps there will be further downloadable fixes. That said, as it 
has manual focus, and I would tend to use this 90% of the time on the 
street, the camera would be ideal for me. However, the test doesn't give 
times for shutter lag which is the singular most annoying thing about 
compacts. I'll have to try it out at a dealers myself when they get some in.
