Bottom line: 1) Did the creator have something interesting to say? 2) What effect does the creator's expressive work have on any particular viewer (listener)? The answers will always remain subjective. For me: Steve Bloom had something interesting to say aesthetically, technically and socially; and his efforts had a significant effect. Different viewers will always respond differently to the work. Google maps, satellite views, topographic views and streetviews certainly provide amazing amounts of useful information. However, google does bring an intentional visual "originality" to the mix. Steve Bloom and John Cage bring intentional "originality" to their efforts.
