Runs XP off the main drive and Ubuntu 9.10 off an external USB (GRUB on the USB drive so it boots straight into windows when the USB's not plugged in). As long as you take into account what it is (small, portable) and what it isn't (Cray, Silicon Graphics, Quad-core) it's excellent. OOo does well, Digikam is okay given that the size of the drives I'm using limits the size of the libraries... the only thing I've discovered is that, as I mentioned earlier, the small screen is sometimes problematic for some submenus and popups, where you can't get to the buttons. I'm still working on that one. However, for email, web, word processing, writing, photo library management ... can't be beat. Extended-life batteries are readily available, and run times are good. But Nathan's list of software gives me more than I want! -- R.
