The 18 (all versions) is sharp enough, in general but has nasty moustache distortion. The VC 20 is quite nice; no better than the Nikkor but also has auto diaphragm but not AF. If you don't want/need AF the earlier Nikkor 20/3.5 with 52mm filter threads is excellent and would be my choice. >Why not Nikon's 20/2.8?
