I now use Windows 7 Professional 64 bit, have 16GB of memory, and all programs zip around quite satisfactorily. I have two daily backups - one to a Windows Home Server (which has also worked flawlessly for the last one year), and one to an external drive. I will upgrade my laptop from Vista to Windows 7 as soon as Nikon make their programs compliant. I will stick to Windows for two reasons: - much, much more choice in software - my computers are used for everything from games to arcane financial modeling and data crunching - none of my data suppliers here support Mac. - it is also comforting to know that your purchases add to the money available for charitable purposes around the world. As my own country is one of the beneficiaries, it should be supported.
