It depends on your choice of subject and what you want in your photos.  For
my subjects and for what I want in my photos, the time used moving the
aperture ring costs me the picture I want, particularly since I want to
choose a particular aperture, not an approximate aperture, to get correct
exposure with a particular (manual) shutter speed.  As I believe Frank
wrote, "YMMV".
