You can understand that they won't give away the M8 exact numbers except to say that they achieved their goals with the M8/M8.2. On the M9 initial market reaction it seems that they will be doing rather better than that now. The Aussie distributor product manager told me that the initial production order has now been increased to 8,000 units. They expect it to take months to catch up. 2009/10/31 Dante Stella <dstella1 at ameritech.net> > How does this compare to the M8? > > Dante > > On Oct 6, 2009, at 6:31 AM, Geoff Hopkinson wrote: > > Since its still on topic, pardon another post on this. >> Figures have just emerged from the Portugal factory (4 October), which >> fabricates the chassis etc. >> Initial production was 600 cameras and they have orders for 6,000 cameras. >> Their daily production iof 50-60 cameras is sold out until January. >> >> >> >> >> -- >> Cheers >> Geoff >> The new LEICA M9 >> Passion for perfect pictures. >> http://www.m.leica-camera.com >> >> http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/gh/ >> http://www.pbase.com/hoppyman >> >
