if/when the DMR dies, what is your first choice...?

Among the cameras on the market today the most interesting replacements for
me would be the Nikon D700 and the Sony A900.  The Nikon for its high-ISO
capabilies and the Sony for its sensor stabilization.  R lenses can be
modified to fit either.  I'd much rather wait to see what the promised
solution for R lenses looks like before I have to make a choice.
