Hi Steve,

If you use two different physical drives, Time Machine backs up the backup.
For me, retired with no major consequences of loss, thats good enough.
Professionally, a third backup - preferably offsite -  would be a
requirement. If my files were my source of income, I would take an
offsite backup every week or so.

My own stuff, if I lost everything in my house due to fire, flood, or
whatever, what I have on the web at at Smugmug would reduce my sense
of loss - when I finish scanning my negs and slides, which were never
backed up :-)

But yes, you are right,  if the stuff is important enough to you, you
should backup the backup far away from wherever you are.
That sounds metaphysical :-)
