Yes, actually I'm very often not completly sure what is the best setting
for darkness when I scan my pictures. I try different settings and keep
the one I like more. But sometimes I come back an other day and use an
other setting that I like more. You comment made me want to check again
this (I'm busy scanning new pictures at the moment, but I will look at
it later).

I have the same problem when I take 2 or 3 very similar pictures, I
don't know which one to keep :)
