Just a note in favor of AMEX. If you do find places that accept
AMEX, you can charge anything with confidence that AMEX will back you
up in any dispute. We have disputed false charges, altered tips,
faulty merchandise many times and AMEX always refunds our
money. Anything that you purchase with AMEX also carries an extra
year's warranty. We bought a bunch of stuff from a store in Greece
using our AMEX card and had it shipped home. It never arrived and
AMEX covered everything. When we have tried similar complaints with
VISA, we just get a run-around.
