"Dish Earth" channel 212 on Dish Network, has a live camera trained on the Earth from Echostar 11. Since the exposure balances, the best times to look at it are in the middle of the day -6 gmt or, (I'm guessing) middle of the night, so you can see the city light masses. It refreshes every 15 seconds, so if you watch long enough, you can see the passage of light in the morning. This could give new meaning Fridays; we can now watch sunrise arrive in the village of Kirimati, in the country of Kiribati, Since Echostar is geostationary, the view is the Western hemisphere, but today you could clearly see the remnants of tropical storm Carlos. They also play oldies music at the same time. Mesmerizing. -- Regards, Sonny http://www.sonc.com http://sonc.stumbleupon.com/ Natchitoches, Louisiana (+31.754164,-093.099080) USA
