Having waited years for this to materialise, I have to admit it was a huge disappointment. My complaints: 1. 7th gear is way too tall - great for corporate fuel economy figures, but useless for serious driving. The transmission ECU is programmed to shift up very early, and you could find yourself cruising at 70km/h in 7th gear in normal mode. If you have ordered Sports Chrono, engaging Sport or Sport Plus mode will keep you away from 7th gear. 2. The gear lever orientation is wrong. For PDK, it is push for upshift (+), and pull for downshift (-). This is exactly opposite to sequential transmission found in race cars, Ferrari or BMW. 3. Instead of having shift paddles behind the steering wheel (i.e. '+' on right, '-' on left), PDK employs small push-pull levers on both sides of the steering wheel. This is very confusing and not ergonomic at all. 4. PDK is boring. PDK is no fun. It may be a great tool for track driving if you are chasing for the best lap time, but if you are after driving enjoyment, forget it. I am sticking to my 6-speed manual 997 instead. Nothing beats a perfect shift with heel-n-toe...... Joseph Sent from my iPorsche On 7/9/09 8:42 PM, "Robert D.
