The high ISO performance does seem to go to the cMOS chips.

I've not heard of a CCD back or camera which does as well in the high  
ISO realm.

trade-off?
need one of each?

I do appreciate the 5D in the high ISO and auto everything categories.
However - don't have any fast glass for it
(except for R summilux 35 and 50 - which can be fun)
